I felt a sense of pride (although I'm nobody) when I read the news article - breakthrough against leukemia treatment. I remember looking at the smear & asking my supervisor about it. And my supervisor told me the clinical history/current treatment plans. Fascinated, I even asked for a copy of the research protocol so that I can read through the details.
Whenever we've any interesting case, my supervisor likes to say this with pride: "You only see this here." (Initially when I first started working, I was a bit intimidated whenever my supervisor asked me to look at some interesting case & asked me what I think. She still does. But now I'm quite used to her style of teaching)
